Adam Vaughan, co-founder of www.hippyshopper.com, launches www.thegreenguy.co.uk. Packed with reviews of the latest green gadgets, Fairtrade fashion and, soon, everything from organic food to healthy and beauty, thegreenguy is a UK blog devoted to ethical things you can do and buy without changing your entire life - 'ethical stuff that anyone can do'.
Like Hippyshopper, thegreenguy's aim is to deliver the latest ethical shopping and lifestyle advice without the preachy, guilt-ridden tone of much ethical journalism. Instead it's a celebration of the rise of eco chic, green products that perform as well as their toxic rivals and the innovation that's leading the new ethical consumerism.
What makes it unique:
Hands-on reviews of green products: this is more than just a news blog
Your Ethical Tips, a bank of indispensable information from readers and the companies behind the ethical world.
The personal odyssey of one ordinary twentysomething's attempt to live a greener life
A strong UK focus to showcase the country's lead in eco and Fairtrade shopping
Back-up by freelance articles in the national press
An occasional thegreenguy appearance on Stuff Magazine's podcast, one of the Top 100 UK podcasts
About Adam Vaughan
I'm Online Editor for Stuff Magazine, the world's best-selling gadget magazine and officially the fastest growing title in the men's lifestyle market. I've also written for newspapers including The Guardian and the Mail on Sunday as well as magazines such as T3, MacFormat, City Life, BA High Life and Project.
I also co-founded Hippyshopper.com, an ethical shopping blog which was featured everywhere from The Guardian to The Register and listed in the 2005 Vogue List as one of the 'trends, the people, the places' of the year. Hippyshopper is now published by Shiny Media.
