Young North Oxfordshire band Simplicity “branched” out yesterday by playing a live gig outside under the trees at the impressive Cornbury Park near Chipping Norton. Simplicity’s sponsors Jason Hardy and Cheryl-Lee Foulsham from Oxford based Studio 45 along with George Hedges (Secretary for ROSY) had been fundamental in getting the band a chance to play at the ROSY (Respite nursing for Oxfordshire Sick Youngsters) Party in The Park event.
The band were very nervous as this was their first “outdoor” gig and they would be delivering their own material which the majority of the audience would not have heard before. Simplicity need not have worried as they rose to the challenge in delivering a seven song set which was warmly received by the large audience which had gathered to listen. The band delivered a number of up tempo numbers before closing with a fantastic version of “Her Smile” one of the first songs that the band wrote on their formation 9 months ago. The comment from the boys after the gig “If we have made one person happy and smile today then we will have achieved our goal”.
The band are now spending time utilising Studio 45’s extensive skills to create a 4 track EP which will gain both the band and Studio 45 further recognition in the music world.

“Todays gig at ROSY, Party in the Park, Cornbury Park was fantastic, you have a new fan in the name of George Hedges, the Secretary for ROSY, he thinks, along with us all, that you are "VERY" talented, and that he would be privileged to have you perform at any of their future functions!”
ROSY (Respite nursing for Oxfordshire Sick Youngsters).
Put simply, the Respite Nurses are specialists in looking after acutely or chronically ill babies and children – in their homes. Often their patients have conditions for which there is no cure.
They also have another crucial role – crucial to the patient’s families. Looking after a sick child 24 hours a day is both physically and emotionally draining. The effects on the rest of the family can be extensive. The Respite Nurses not only provide the peace of mind for carers to take a real break, however short; they also offer experience and support through the difficult and sometimes final hours.
