Eighteen-year-old Lewisham College Beauty student Pirisse Hunt has been awarded a silver medal at this year’s UK Skills Challenge Competition.
Pirisse said that the competition was the most exciting event of her life and that she was thrilled to win the silver medal.
Lewisham College Beauty Academy tutor Elaine Gill said: “Pirisse performed like a professional at the competition and really deserved the award. We are extremely proud of her! This is the second year running that one of our Beauty students has been successful in winning a silver medal and we look forward to returning next year to compete for the gold.”
The well-established UK Skills beauty competition is an excellent opportunity for students to test their skills against peers at a regional and national level. The regional heats of the competition challenge individuals at a live one-day beauty therapy competition and require students to demonstrate their practical application of waxing, facial treatment, manicure and make-up.
