Vision2learn, the UK’s first complete e-learning solution for the Further Education (FE) sector, is now working with over 90 colleges and has more that 2,000 students signing up for its vocational courses each week.
Vision2learn (www.vision2learn.com) from Creating Careers offers courses that span IT, work skills, health, fitness, sports coaching and wider key skills such as starting your own business and succeeding at work.
Offering an alternative and accessible route to studying, vision2learn’s online platform is helping learners to realise their potential by providing a range of the latest stimulating courses to help people achieve nationally recognised qualifications. In 2006,
The Leitch Review of Skills highlighted that the UK will need around 90 per cent of people skilled with Level 2 qualifications by 2020 in order to compete in the global market.
Vision2learn offers people a way into either higher education or the work-place as the courses provide recognised qualifications as well as valuable work-related skills.
Creating Careers offers a personalised experience for all of its users and a dedicated manager provides ongoing support for colleges and training providers through regular visits and reviews. Learners have their own online tutor which they can contact for help and advice during their course.
Plus, using vision2learn’s automatic learning progress portfolio, learners can track the work they have completed and monitor their progress whilst working in their own time and at their own pace.
As vision2learn delivers Qualifications online, it can be a great help to individuals who are unable to attend work, including those who have been injured. Wayne Webb, a 39-year old learner from Walsall, studied using vision2learn. He commented: “I suffered a back injury whilst working as a labourer. I knew I needed new skills in order to compete with other potential job-seekers so I contacted vision2learn and began my First Steps in IT course. Studying at home meant that I could take my time and felt much more relaxed. Doing this course will hopefully help me to get a new job when I’m fit to return to work.”
Jonathan Ovenden, Business Development Director at Creating Careers, said: “Vision2learn can help colleges and individuals to be engaged in a more practical and vocational approach to education. We are approached by thousands of individuals each month, and we are working to pair with more colleges to ensure that e-learning opportunities are available to all learners, no matter what age. This is a great personalised learning experience allowing all ages to improve their skills set and achieve an effective balance between academic foundation and practical application of their chosen course.”
