   Stylish New Brand Dogside - It's an Urban Dog's Life
Everyone’s always known that it’s a dog’s life but today, new evidence - released alongside the London launch of the stylish dog brand Dogside - shows that city canines are living it large and having a great time!

Pooches in the capital are more likely than those elsewhere to get treats and walks and be taken shopping, whilst having a better social life than dogs living in rural areas.

They also get more expensive pressies and toys to play with and have a greater chance of having a ball thrown for them than dogs elsewhere in the country.

And, as if life wasn’t amazing enough, today, across London, dogs will be discovering the ultimate new label with their own eyes and noses!

Dogside is the first brand made exclusively for urban dogs - and it is based on a view of life through a dog’s own eyes.

Dogside aims to show owners what their dogs see, hear, smell and think. It’s a brand that is always on the dog’s side and in parks across the capital dogs are finding out for themselves just how attractive Dogside is as they sniff out thousands of free black, branded tennis balls.

A London-based urban dog loving team, including founders Adam Arnold and Georgia Howe, is behind this pioneering launch with its online portal - dogside.com which offers:

· Engaging videos and photos shot from a dog’s perspective - showcasing some of London’s most fascinating dogs and their owners with pioneering ‘dog-cam’ footage capturing a dogs view of the city.

· Dogside.com also features an interactive Google map plotting London from a dog’s point of view - called ‘DogsideTracks’. It includes great walks, dog friendly pubs and local vets. Local businesses are being encouraged to become dog friendly and join the map and become Dogside Approved.

· Loads of interesting and useful articles and advice on dogs issues. As well as an irreverent and entertaining mix of daily news and a blog, ‘DogsideLines’, for owners to enjoy.

· A forum called ‘DogsidePosts’ for urban dog owners to get in touch with each other and discuss bringing up a dog in the city.

Dogside founder Adam Arnold says, “Life in a big city is very different for dogs, just as it is for humans, and until now, products and services for dogs have been either drab and traditional or cute and fluffy. No one has started from the position of thinking about what it means and what it feels like to be a dog in the city. No one has asked ‘what do urban dogs and their owners need?’ That’s why we started Dogside.”

He continues, “The aim of Dogside is to enhance and improve the lives of urban dogs and their owners. We’ve done a lot of research into the day-to-day life of urban dogs and the behavior of their owners and we’ve uncovered lots of insights. Our initial range of products and our Dogside.com portal have all been designed with these in mind and are set to take the quality of canine city living to a new level”.

Amongst the new Dogside findings are the fact that Londoners will spend more on their dogs than those living in villages (19% will spend £25+ vs 7% of villagers), Londoners walk their dogs more than the rest of the country (69% walk their dogs 2+ times a day vs 41% of people in rural areas) and that Londoners are a third more likely to walk their dogs at night than those in rural areas (94% walk early evening or last thing at night vs 61% of those in rural areas.) Londoners are also more likely than those in rural areas to walk their dogs just so they can socialise with other dogs (39% vs 18%). The new Dogside apparel range and experience has been developed to meet some of these resultant needs. The initial line up of products includes:


· The Dogside Lead: A stylish 90 cm black lead with an electroluminescent blue thread running through it. This makes it perfect for a night walk during the dark winter months. A contoured, vulcanised rubber handle makes it easier to take control of your pet while dodging traffic and pedestrians on the city streets. Priced at £25.

· The Dogside Jacket: This waterproof jacket with easy velcro fastenings is the ultimate in performance outer wear and will not only ensure a dog is this season’s style leader but importantly it will stop him getting wet and muddy during walks in the park. Available in XS, S, M and L. There are no more excuses for owners on rainy days.


· The Dogside Bowl: So you thought that a bowl was just a bowl - well not this one. This is the dogs! Not only does this one look super cool with its branded black outer bowl but it is also designed with a stainless steel removable inner bowl for easy cleaning; rubberised feet so it stays put when your dog is munching; and cut away handles making it easier to pick up.
