How to find your perfect Valentine's Day match in time for the big day.
With Valentine's Day fast approaching, it's time for love and romance to take its turn in the spotlight. Mr Right is supposed to be out there somewhere but where's he hiding?? If you're despairing of ever finding your perfect match then you would do well to heed the advice of love guru, Honey Langcaster-James.
She has been set to work by Impulse TrueLove to help the UK's 7 million singletons avoid a depressing Valentine's night with a microwave meal in front of the TV!
What are the rules of the modern day dating game? How can you ensure that you not only bag a date but also give the relationship every chance of going the distance?
Finding the right partner is not going to happen overnight and will require a degree of patience and perseverance…it just takes these few simple steps:
* 2 girlie nights out – have a couple of nights out with the girls planned. Don't assume you can go straight out one evening, visit one pub, and bag a date, allow at least a couple of evenings for the hunt!
* 3 dates - You can't expect your first date to be all Hollywood romance! The first one should be a getting-to-know-you type of date. If it goes well, plan another date when you might begin to suss out whether there is any mutual romantic interest and the question of plans for the 14th can be raised. By the third date – the 14th Feb - it should be implicitly, if not explicitly, obvious that you're both interested in pursuing something romantic.
* 40 texts! - This might seem high, but text allows fun banter and enables people to be a bit cheekier than they might be over the telephone. This kind of communication will show you how compatible you are and it's quite common for romance to hot up over text – especially when you start adding xx’s as you sign off.
* 6 phone calls - You need to strike a balance between showing interest and coming across as a bunny-boiler. Text works as it’s not intrusive and can be replied to at your leisure. Limit phone calls to two to three chats per week, it helps to keep the magic alive when you meet up for those all important dates.
During the first flushes of romance a roller coaster of emotional and physical changes will be experienced.
Smelling great and feeling fresh is essential when dating; you need to feel relaxed and confident to ensure you’re open to all romantic possibilities. When it comes to choosing the all-important fragrance, try to match it to your mood and what best fits the occasion.
