24 million Brits have had their lives changed by spending £10 or less…
The saying goes that money makes the world go round but according to 24 million Brits it takes just a tenner to change your destiny forever. Over half of the UK population claim that at some point spending as little as £10 has had a positive impact on their life. Purchases such as pregnancy tests, first driving lessons and first pets came high on the list suggesting that the key moments of our lives have very little to do with the amount of money being spent.
According to the research conducted by Vodafone over a third said that one of the best small investments they had made was a life-changing book, film or album. A quarter have also had their lives improved by a lottery ticket or bingo card. But the benefits of making a small investment aren’t just limited to materials. 24% say they have bought a small gift that has significantly changed the status of a relationship and 22% claim to have improved a friendship with just the cost of a phone call.
Such savvy spending isn’t limited to times gone by when things were cheaper and the bus cost 20p. An impressive 57% have had that ‘money well spent’ feeling in the last 6 months and over a third have felt this way in the last two weeks.
