 Hollywood Comedy King is the Real Deal! - Saturday 31st May 2008 @ Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham and Sunday 1st June 2008 @ The Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham
After yet another successful event at the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham and The Royal Concert Hall, Notts in February and March, the Real Deal Comedy Jam brings a summer smash line-up of some of America's best-known comedians and writers, as well as some of the UK's slickest comedians for a one off special show for two nights only!
Michael 'The King of Venice Beach' Colyar started his comedy career on Venice Beach, California, after claiming the hearts and minds of audiences with his thought-provoking humour. He was even honoured by Venice Beach, in 1995 for his outstanding comedy career, and had his shoe prints, hand prints and money grabber cemented on the boardwalk of Venice Beach.
Currently the man of the moment, Michael has a career that spans nearly 20 years in film, television and stand-up comedy, due to his informative and highly entertaining brand of comedy that guarantees positive responses wherever he performs.
A frequent performer on DEF Comedy Jam and BET's Comic View, Michael has also been credited in such films and sitcoms as; ' Barbershop,' 'The Hughelys,' 'Whats Love Got to do with it,' 'Hot Shots Part Deux,' plus many more. And most recently, Michael has just completed the filming for Ice Cube's new movie - 'Michael.'
Michael will come to the UK and deliver a splendid array of original perspective jokes that will leave the UK audiences crying out for more. Not to be missed!
Overnight sensation Kareem Green's exuberant stage antics is taking the New York comedy circuit by storm!
A Queens, NY native, Kareem used comedy as an adolescent by a way of defending himself when he was being teased for wearing unpopular clothes. He knew then that this was a career path for him and a chance to be cool.
Since Kareem's career has taken off he has developed a universal charismatic style that keeps audiences on the edge of their seat.
He's a three-time champion at the world famous 'Showtime at the Apollo', has appeared on 'Comic View' and has toured throughout Europe several times.
A past favourite of the RDCJ, and representing for the ladies this time around, Donna Spence is a seasoned comedienne on the London comedy scene as well as a very experienced compere.
With no intentions of ever becoming a comedian (until Ninia Benjamin one of the stars of 3 Non Blondes pleaded for her to enter a comedy competition), she entered, and got through to the finals and has never looked back.
In her years performing up and down the country as a comedienne Donna has received an award for 'Best Female New comer' at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards, produced and performed her own comedy sketch called 'We Ain't Getting Paid For This' and New Little Sister, to name but a few. She has also performed stand-up on the hit Asian TV show Malani Presents and Malani Monologues on BBC2 & BBC3.
Joe Bor may still be a newcomer to the comedy world, but he is destined to become a legend.
A teacher in his spare time, Joe has an engaging style of delivery, slipping skilfully into characters when needs be, and effortlessly spreads good spirits with his chatty, confident and fluid manner.
Joe has written and starred in sketch show 'Oi Over Here' which played at The Pleasance Theatre, Edinburgh in 2005, and is in development for TV.
He may have only been in comedy for a few years but Joe has achieved outstanding credits to include: WINNER Comedy Store Gong Show April 2007, WINNER Comedy Cafe New Act Night March 2007 , Finalist Comedy Factor 2007 , Hotstarlets 2007 and Amused Moose Semi Finalist 2007.
'We can't get enough of him. We want more!' say Kat's die-hard Birmingham fans. So the RDCJ did responded to the demands and brought Kat to compere this spectacular show.
Kat is best known for his antics on MTV Base, The Lick Parties (with Trevor Nelson) and the Request Show.
