Who will be the next Julien MacDonald? Have you ever looked atKate Moss or Victoria Beckham and thought you could dress them better? Or have you ever wanted to become a top British designer like Stella McCartney or Julien Macdonald?
Well, the 2008 Graduate Fashion Week taking place on the 8th-12th of June at Earls Court could be just the chance budding designers are looking for.
As well as being one of the biggest dates in the international fashion calendar it also serves as the industry's looking glass into the future of fashion. More than 1000 of the finest fashion students from 49 university courses across the UK will be showcasing their work in the hopes of bagging some well-deserved recognition.
All of the awards, including Britain's most prestigious prize for fashion education, the River Island Gold Award, with a prize of £20,000, will be judged by an expert panel, which this year includes timeless fashion icon and top supermodel Claudia Schiffer.
Graduate Fashion Week 2008 sees even more opportunities for rising style stars to find out more about the industry and the part they might play in it. Students aged 14-18 can take part in the 'Education Day' on 12 June, a day of research, catwalk shows and careers education that will demonstrate just how rewarding the fashion industry can be and all the different careers that are available.
