The Black Beast of Exmoor

This cat-like creature was thought responsible for the death of over 200 farm animals over a 5-month period in England in 1987. The creature pictured below was sighting numerous times and was clocked running up to 35 MPH. The creature was also able to leap over 6 foot high fences without a problem. There aren't supposed to be any large cats still living in regions where this animals was sighted.

De Loys' Ape

Francois De Loys and his party killed this creature on the Venezuela/Columbia border in 1917. This creature appears to be a very man-like ape. It has never been identified as a known species. De Loys group was attack by these creatures and they shot and killed one of them. The creature was about 5 ft tall and had a very human like appearance and movements. The size and shape of the creature’s forehead show that it isn't even closely related to known primates of South America. Could this creature be the missing link between man and ape? Is this creature or one of its relatives responsible for the bigfoot/yeti sightings?

Giant Congo Snake
A Belgium helicopter pilot, Col. Remy Van Lierde, while on patrol, took the picture below in 1959 over the Congo. The snake he saw measured approximately 40 to 50 feet in length, dark brown/green with a white belly. It had triangle shaped jaws and a head about 3 ft x 2 ft. Experts have analysed the pictures and have verified them as authentic. They also have verified the size of the creature by matching ground features to the snake. As the helicopter flew in lower the snake raised up 10 feet and looked as if it would strike at the helicopter if they flew any closer.

Big foot
Is it possible that a reclusive man-like creature inhabits the remote areas of our planet? Why not? Isn't it arrogant of us to assume we know of all the species on this huge planet? Scientists will tell you that we don't. Only a few years ago, an unknown animal now named the Okapi was discovered. What about creatures we know of , but are thought to be extinct ? The coelacanth was thought to be extinct for 70 million years until they were discovered alive and well in 1938. So is it really that hard to believe that a hair covered, man-like creature could exist on the verge of discovery ? In many remote areas of the world there have been sightings of just such a creature. Known by many names such as Sasquatch, Yeti, Alma’s and many more. Is this an unknown primate, the "missing link" or some other yet unknown species? There is evidence to support the existence of just such a creature in the North-western United States as well as other remote areas. There are still numerous sightings every year. The descriptions of the creatures are very similar from sighting to sighting. There are discrepancies in some of the details but the mind does play tricks on us when frightened. Exaggeration and hoaxes do account for some of the discrepancies in the descriptions as well. The height is the most varied detail. Witnesses have reported the creatures to be from 5'6" to 8' +. This is easily explained if you take into account the possible age difference of the particular creature. Did they see and adult or juvenile? There would be a noticeable size difference depending on the age.

Sea serpents

The vast majority of the earth's oceans and seas are unexplored. Is it really hard to believe that there are creatures that live so far down or in such remote areas, that humans rarely, if ever, see them? The waters of this planet go mostly unexplored. It is very easy to hypothesize that we have not come close to cataloguing all the creatures that dwell in these waters. There has been many a sailor who has told stories of seeing strange creatures while on the high seas. Are these just ramblings or are they actual eyewitness accounts of creatures yet unknown to science. The giant squid was thought of as a creature of myth and legend until recently, when scientist found corpses of just such a creature as recently as October 1997. Many of these "sea serpents" descriptions a similar to creatures that are thought to be extinct. The coelacanth was thought to be extinct for 70 million years until it was discovered alive and well in 1938. The fish is no longer on the extinct list. If this fish could survive all those years undetected, why can't other prehistoric giants have done the same thing? Every year unknown animals or animals that were thought extinct are discovered. Because most of these animals don't fall into the "monster" category, there is very little written about them that a layperson would see. New species of water creatures that were discovered recently include the Japanese beaked whale (1958), the cochito porpoise (1958), Megamouth Shark (1976), and Prudes Bay killer whale (1983). Isn't it safe to assume that since creatures are discovered or rediscovered all the time, these sea serpents and lake monsters are just waiting their turn to be identified properly?
