   SUPPORT FOR SDRS™
Currently holding conditional offers. Would like to know more
about the solution, sounds great.
Victoria Mortimer

Would like to know if this solution is coming to Scotland??? Am
very interested in taking part.
Erin Kennedy

This sounds like a brilliant solution
Rachel Lewis

Daughter has struggled with course work because she has had to work so many hours to make end meet. Unfortunately we are not in a position to support her as we would like, so anything that will help to reduce this mountain of debt is good.
Glynis Green

It sounds like a brilliatnt idea. I'm training to be a Primary
teacher and will end up £16,000 in debt at the end of the four years.
anything that can help make a dent in this figure must be a great idea!!!
Sarah Pedlar

I think it is a good solution as i myself am in a lot of money
problems. Every shop should participate.
Tanzeel Aslam

It sounds like an excellent solution, finally something is there
to help students!
Sooraya Mohabeer

Basically i have read all the information that has been posted
and simply want to know where i sign up?
Lawrence Archibald

Should not have to pay fees of any kind
Rachel Dilloway

We really really need this because I'm currently unemployed and I cannot get any benefits, in the past Ihave been forced to work in low paid jobs to support myself. I come from a poor family so I need all the help I can get and I think there isn't enough out there. Stop interfering with our education an making it hard for us an try and help us make our generation better.
Jo

i think its a very good idea - The idea of 11K debt frightens me!
Vicky Robinson

I totally agree with this petition, its outrageous that in order to gain a better career we have to be in so much debt, many of us wont be able to afford to leave our parents houses until we are about 45! ridiculous!
Joanne Clayton

It is not only the rich that are entitled to higher education but everyone.
Sarah Hetherington

As the mother of 6 boys all at or on their way to uni this would be a great help especially when the younger ones go the fees will be higher and we really have to consider whether it really is worth being so much debt for possibly not much reward.
Lorraine Brennan

I will be the last of six boys to go to uni and fees will be a lot higher so hopefully all the boys can use the card to get me out of debt. I hope the solution lasts till I go.
Kit Brennan

This is great being the 5th of six brothers and baring in mind fees will have gone up by then hopefully it will save me some money.
Leo Brennan

Great i am another of the 6 and every penny will help.
Clive Brennan

G reat i am another of the six boys starting uni this year i am poor too.
Ollie Brennan

I am one of six boys at or on our way to uni we need all the help we can get.
Stuart Brennan

Im in my first year of uni and allready in big debts
R. James Macleod

Sounds an interesting solution. I have had to take a year
out between 1st and 2nd year as the money simply ran out. I keep seeing "graduates will make £400,000 more than non-graduates" however with tax isn't that about £160,000 more to the government than a non-graduate gives? That would pay nicely the £16,000 that some poor student would need to get through university.
Robert Armstrong

My daughter is currently in her 1st year at university - she is already in about £5500 worth of debt (student loan and overdraft) and it is only 5 months into a 3 year course, with a further year for PGCE to go afterwards!
How can young graduates be expected to cope - and where is the
encouragement for the youth of today to go to university?
We have a catch 22 situation - you cannot get a decent job without a degree these days, but to obtain that degree, you begin working life in great sums of debt.
Once working, most will be wishing to take on a mortgage for a property of their own - that too is almost an impossible task for anyone, without starting from minus figures!
Jacky Wollaston

I agree with u on that the sdrs is much better than the nus website and more intresting and usefull.
Rachael Dilloway

I Hope the government get a grip! They need to face
problems within our country before they try and solve other peoples
problems, we would be wise enough to help others if we ourselves are problem free or at least controlled, we are not in a position to go around saying to people what is right and what is wrong. Anyhow I am starting to believe that the government are in it for the money and forgot why they ever initially decided to climb to a position where there voices could be heard, and where they can benefit the people. Not one person deserves to live in a mansion, spending stupid amounts of money on clothes and accesseries etc. There are very few people that have earnt this status through there work, government or dust bin man, not that i believe in communism though! Hope you succeed your dreams, Love
Helen Blaiklock

I want one of these cards! for me, my mum, dad, husband,
aunties, uncle ,brother....!!!
Amy Bond

It looks like a good solution and I would like to be involved when it involves my university.
Jacqui Plummer

I think it is bad that the government have decided to put up the cost of university fees, thanks to them they have put me off going to Uni.
Robert Maxwell

I think this is an excellent way for students to relieve themselves of so much debt.
Great Idea
Debbie Sherris

As a parent of four children at various stages of their education I am deeply concerned about student debt. I am unconvinced by research that states graduates will earn more over their life time. I see many manual workers earning equivalent or above.
Angela Colbridge

As a sabbatical officer i am very interested, especially since the idea was not implemented properly by NUS. Students need proper discount, not complete falacy.
Melanie Bawn

I think this is a very good idea and will help the students. And in turn, others close to the student can help without handing over large sums of money, instead they will not realise the amount if it is worked through a points card system.
Craig Jones

Bring back the grant!
Dean Brown

As a parent of a first year university student, and having already paid for her private education as there was no suitable state education available locally, I strongly support any solution which will help reduce her final debt.
I hope the solution will be extended to include Queen Mary College, University of London so that my daughter will be able to benefit from it.
Pamela Kensington

I wished I knew about this earlier before Christmas. You must get this extended.
Mrs. J. Littleboy

I think that this initiative is a great idea, and I'm 100% behind it, having debts myself because of being on a Degree course in Surrey living away from my home in Devon. Excellent work!
Mike R Dixon

If we are to become a more experienced country in our business sectors, I feel it important the government should respond by paying those costs for essential living expences. A graduate student puts money back into the government.
cheryl robinson

This solution is a brilliant idea, and will help alot of students nationally to achienve their goal in life!
Emma Ball

It's bad enough having to pay student loans back but for the amount we have spent (£16,000 so far) then it's an insult that the teaching standards are rubbish and were having to pay for lecturers that simply are useless.
Emma Robinson

What an excellent idea. it's no solution to the problem of forcing
students to live in debt, but it is a good start.
Sarah Knight

I graduated in June 2002 and have a total of over £16,000 debt. I have been applying for jobs but have yet to receive an interview. I am temping but cannot afford repayments. Students should be warned of the situations they can end up in. As far as I am concerned my degree has got me know where apart from in debt and depressed!!
Joanna Jackson

British students should not have to pay tuition fees. It is scandalous.
Jenni Canakis

Grants not loans for less well off people please
Jessica Titmus

I think it is atrocious that from a young age children are encouraged to do well at school and work hard to achieve the grades they need so they can do courses they want to do at college. What is the point in working hard to go to college if it is where you are constantly
reminded of why you should be applying to uni and of course, the huge debt you will have shadowing your every financial move before, during, and for years after your degree. Why encourage children to work hard, supplying them with the false hope that some day they will fulfill their dreams of becoming doctors and nurses, when all they will achieve is a huge debt they are forever paying off. Or worse still, they fear the debt and so do not pursue their dreams at all!
Kelly Conway

Stop loading the people who are trying to better themselves, students are learning to better themselves so that they will be successful in their chosen career yet you charge us and reward those who are lazy.
Adam Howard

GRANTS not LOANS
Katherine Dee

This is a wonderful oportunity for the government to support tomorrows workers and the people who will eventualy run the country
Michelle Clarke

End Student Debt!!!
Sabrina Biggerstaff

I think this is a great initiative. The solution should be a great help to many students who incur debts while completing their courses of study.
Dennis Summers

I support the solution fully for students around the country. I have a daughter who is thinking of going to University in the future.
Mrs H Ferrao-Read

This government has gone against traditional rights of free education for all - by making students pay for their studies - I believe books and accommodation should be paid from government resources
Anthony John LEE

I think this is a great idead as a student myself.
Michael Halls

I believe that with the abolishment of the grant, the sdrs would at least give some help to new students who face a huge debt as they graduate.
Silvana Desarini

Sounds like a brilliant idea. Future debt is one of my main worries... it
would take this away and make university a little less stressful!!
Karen Gilbert

Sounds a brilliant idea if enough students, businesses and the Government
are all informed of the benefits of it!
Katy Stallabrass

I think that this is a really good idea to help students.
Jenny Ellis

I believe student debt should be minimised as you shouldn't have to incur debt whilst studying then start paying it off when you graduate. Some graduates will want to raise a family, start a business or other things and will find the incurred debt a hinderance
Robin Peers
