Do you want to volunteer in Kenya
Our activities include deployment of over 200 technical and non technical development personnel and volunteers from all over the world to work with local communities on a variety of more than 12 projects annually. These development personnel and volunteers help in capacity enhancement through specialised and non specialised tasks e.g. community advancement training, rehabilitation of sick projects, resource and savings mobilisation, credit delivery, project supervision, cultural festivals, product development, exhibitions, development education workshops and, marketing. CIVS, therefore, organises both long and short term projects. A short term project involves three week work camps between 8th and 28th of each month in collaboration with the local communities, where the volunteers work with the communities in different sectors. Through these work camps, the community structures - women groups, self help groups, other associations and a variety of community projects have been reached and helped. This relationship has been invaluable and greatly appreciated by the three main stakeholders - our communities, the volunteers and ourselves, since we have all benefited and learned from each others expertise, experience, knowledge and skills.
